Course Type: Hadith (Ahkaam)

Umdat al-Ahkam min Kalam Khayr al-Anaam (AS)

The Reliance of Rulings (al-Hafidh Abdul-Ghani al-Maqdisi)

This is the basic primer in the field of Hadith covering areas of Ahkaam (rulings). It is a compilation of 422 of the most authentic Hadith that can be found in the books, Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih al-Muslim; the two most authentic sources in Islam after the Quran.

The book comprises 20 chapters, which have been arranged in a method conventionally used by Fuqaha (Muslim Jurists). This has been done in order to facilitate the extraction of juristic rulings directly from their authentic source for the ease of students of knowledge. The book covers common areas of Fiqh (jurisprudence) in chapters that deal with matters such as the five pillars of Islam, marriage, buying, oaths, clothing, food, and Jihad.

The text is as popular today as it ever ha been and is taught and memorised widely by those desiring a firm grounding in this field. Due to its continued importance there have been over 20 works dedicated to its explanation one of which extends over 11 volumes.

The beautiful thing about Umdat is that the opinion of each of the four Imams is given and discussed.
We are always looking to add to the faculty as currently our teachers are only able to cope with the teaching they do.

assalaam alaykum,I have a few questions. will the course continue through ramadan or will it stop and then continue after ramadan? is the course on at the same time and day as the nukhbat al fikr course because it would be better to have it on a different day like a monday like the thulathiyyat course was. how many chapters are covered in the 12 week period? Is it possible to attach a translation of the book so that we can look at what we would be studying before deciding? If the course takes longer than the 12 week period will we get extra classes rather than rushing towards the end.
thanks
aisha

In answering your questions:

1:Yes
2. We have two Nukhbat courses, which one Sister?
3. We will cover around 100/110 hadith insha Allah.
4. It is related to basic Fiqh issues mostly covering the five pillars of Islam.  More info can be read here http://www.cordobaacademy.com/ummdatul-ahkaam.html
5.12 weeks will be enough to finish the allotted amount insha Allah.

As-salaamu 'alaykum,
I signed up for the course today but haven't received a payment request yet. I also don't know where it is going to be held. I am taking the early course. Has the course been delayed?

Insh Allah, we wish that these texts could be taught soon, however we currently lack faculty.  If you are aware of anyone who would be willing to teach this text with us, please let us know.

Hmm, if you could give a description of how the Shaykh would work it out here I can ask a local Mufti here..in his community there aren't much Muslims, so compared to that, he might be able to..
